kivalina is located about 83 miles north of the arctic circle on the west coast of the chukchi sea. the village has about 460 residents. the barrier island is threatened by erosion and sea level rise due to climate change. we are working on the community center with re-locate.

the project consists of re-organizing the existing building with upgrades to the kitchen, provide universal accessibility, providing space for the relocation planning efforts and the kivalina archive.
