lake house is situated on big lake at the edge of untouched wilderness of interior alaska. the site is affording the unobstructed views to the west of sleeping lady.

the design for the house is taking advantage of the sloping site towards the lake with a common space centered on the view toward mount susitna as a focal point.

the 3,900 sf house is complimented by a large outdoor deck that wraps around the south and west. the yard opens to the lake and hosts a multitude of activities. the entry courtyard provides relief from the overwhelmingly expansive natural setting, creating a wind sheltered space with sounds of trickling water and a more contemplating feeling.
